Normally a checkout page might require:

1. Creation of an account by completing a registration form.
2. Signing in to the application.
3. Re-directing to a payment processing service like Stripe.
4. Sending a confirmation email with a copy of the order.
5. Saving the order into the database.
6. Clearing cart contents.

This would be a superfluous addition for a fictitious butcher shop so it only empties your cart.
